Survival Guide
Everfree Encore is a music festival. That means it’s outside, for the most part. Since not everyone is staying at the Hostel, and will be spending the night in a tent, here are some hints on what you should prepare for and bring to the festival!
Tent/Bed
Sleeping under the clear night sky is very romantic, but very cold, too. And insects love romantic people, especially those who sleep under the clear night sky. To avoid this, you’ll need to pack a sleeping pad or an air mattress, a sleeping bag, and anything else that you need for your comfort to sleep soundly.
If sleeping in a tent is not your cup of tea, check out our optional indoor accommodation!Hygiene
Yes, well said, you’re right, this is a Brony festival. So, in order that it doesn’t only smell like sweat, I highly recommend taking a shower every day. Fortunately, showers are available on-site and don’t have to be taken along, but towels, shampoo and bodywash, and a change of clothes are very much required. Since you won’t be wearing the same clothes all weekend, I’d pack sufficient clothing, as well as your standard toiletries.Catering
There will be breakfast and dinner for purchase available on location. If you don’t want to buy food from us you can bring food by yourself. Make sure to only take food with you that does not need to be refrigerated, such as preserves foods (canned ravioli is a classic). Of course, you can also bring your barbecue or a small camping stove and prepare food on site. However, barbecuing is only allowed away from the tents in a marked out area. Camping stoves are allowed at the tents. No, stop right there, I said at the tents. Not inside, but outside, at the tents. OUTSIDE! AT THE TENTS! And they should not be thrown when switched on! There’s a story behind every warning. You can also buy food in Uslar, as there are supermarkets, butcher’s shop, and bakery here. If this is too much trouble for you, there will be prepared food for purchase on location!
If you intend to bring food by yourself, remember to take camping crockery and cutlery with you!Drinks
There will be a bar where you can purchase drinks and alcoholic beverages. But you can of course bring your own drinks and alcohol! However, anyone who overdoes it and becomes irresponsible or starts throwing up everywhere will have to face the consequences, which might include being banned from the event or being admitted to hospital – maybe even both. Besides, hangovers the following morning will suck, big time.
I’ll list more things that are useful in any case here:
- Cash
- Chargers for small appliances
- Flashlight
- Air pump (for air mattresses. I’m just saying…)
- Camping crockery, dishes, and cutlery
- Sleeping gear (sleeping bag, air bed/sleeping mat, pillow, plushies…)
- Tent (duh)
- Toiletries
- Food and drinks
- Enough clothing for the weekend
- Important Medications
- Personal ID/Pass Port
That should be the biggest and most important stuff.
